The time has come to close our project: Responsibility and Value Creation in the Sharing Eeconomy (Jaava).
In the project, we studied how social license to operate, corporate social responsibility (CSR), value co-creation, and legal responsibilities were reflected in tourism-based sharing economy in Finnish Lapland. The work was done in four working packages (WPs):
WP1 Social license: What kind of tourism-based sharing economy is locally acceptable?
WP2 CSR in the sharing economy: How is CSR reflected in tourism-based sharing economy practices?
WP3 Value creation in the sharing economy: How can the sharing economy help companies develop their value creation process?
WP4 Platforms as contractual environments: What are the legal responsibilities of platform service providers when facilitating exchange between and among platform users?
The main results of the project are presented in five infographics. The infographics bring together very rich data from an action research process, including interviews, focus groups, host-guest correspondence, media analysis, observation of virtual experiences and legal analysis.

In addition to the infographics, the project created a guide for consumers on responsible sharing economy. Although part of the results has already been published in journal articles and various seminar papers, there are still several articles/research outcomes in writing progress. There are upcoming closing blog posts related to each of the WPs. For more information on our results, published papers and other outcomes, and ongoing research, please visit the project website. Furthermore, we are welcoming new writings and insights on the topic to be published on the blog of the project website.
We would like to warmly thank everyone who participated in the project, especially our action research team!
On behalf of Jaava-project, Maria
